Principal - Mark H. Gainer

Mark Gainer, the principal of Legal Additions, graduated from Boalt Hall School of Law and has a Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning from UC/Berkeley.  He has practiced in firms and served as general counsel to corporations for a number of years.  He is also a trained mediator and licensed real estate broker specializing in business opportunities.

Legal Placement Service

All attorney placements are made by seasoned attorneys from prominent law schools.  Based on experience, we believe that Legal Additions can access not only good lawyers and paralegals, but perhaps more importantly, discern who will be right to meet your particular needs.  We personally screen all candidates.  During contract assignments, Legal Additions contacts the attorney in charge to verify that candidates are performing up to expectations and will remain directly involved throughout their tenure to ensure the placement is entirely to your satisfaction.  A candidate at the client’s option can be an independent contractor, an employee of your firm or legal department or an employee of Legal Additions.  We also provide temp-to-hire and direct placement options.

Fees for Services

Legal Additions' charge for candidates' services will depend on the experience level and background of the people you select.  Contract attorneys typically range from $70 -- $150 per hour.  Contract paralegals typically range from $25 -- $50 per hour. The hourly charge is invoiced to your firm at the end of each week. Direct hire placement fee for attorneys  and paralegals is based upon the standard industry percentage of annual full time salary.    Of course, it is understood that with contract placements your company will not hire or contract with these individuals on any basis without our consent. We maintain a liberal conversion policy should you wish to hire a contract candidate depending upon the length of the placement.
